Well, what's it all about???
This Library Web Quest was developed by library staff at Coleg Llandrillo as part of a CyMAL funded Inspiring Learning project. The Web Quest is based loosely on PLCMC’s established Learning 2.0 programme.
It is a self directed learning programme, which is designed to be completed over 8 weeks. Its aim is to help you become familiar with Web 2.0 technologies in general and the tools that people are using more and more. We hope that by going through each task, in your own time, you will become more confident in using these Web 2.0 tools. It will also help you to understand and be better able to answer any questions that library users might have about Web 2.0. But most importantly, it gives you the time and permission to PLAY.
There is a short task to be completed each week. You can go into each task with as much or as little depth as you feel you need. As part of Week 2 you will create a blog. This will then become your record of learning. You will be expected to write about the tasks you complete each week in your blog (and this will be montitored by an administrator if you have one). It will also be proof that you have completed each weeks task and so have completed the quest. You can also use it as a diary of your learning and record how you felt about each task.
If you need help with any of the tasks, you will be referred to the learning guides (held on the Coleg Llandrillo Library Moodle page). You can also help each other! Each weekly task has the option of leaving a comment on the Coleg Llandrillo blog. This is where you can post questions or ask for help and also reply to questions if you have the answer for your colleagues. Web 2.0 is all about user generated material, quick access and more importantly SHARING knowledge. You know you have understood how to use a Web 2.0 tool when you can explain it to someone else.
Good Luck!
